Abstract :
Schools are educational institutions that are formal, non-formal, and informal, where
the establishment is carried out by the state or private sector with the aim of teaching,
managing, and educating students through the guidance provided by educators or teachers.
The Haversine theorem is a method to find the distance between two points by calculating
that the earth is not a flat plane but is a plane that has degrees of curvature. Haversine's
theorem is used to calculate the distance between 2 points based on the length of the straight
line between 2 points on longitude (Lattitude) and latitude (Longitude). The haversine
method in the author's research is useful for calculating the distance between the user and
the school that is or is registered in the application. Furthermore, the distance data will be
sorted by the system from closest to furthest. The level of accuracy in the use of the haversine
algorithm is 98.12% using the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). There are 19 junior
high school data used and 16 high school data used, so the total school data is 35 school
data. The distance used in the author's research is a Public school located in Banda Aceh
with an area of 61.36 KM from Banda Aceh.
