Abstract :
VTM is an extension of Virus Transport Media which is a storage medium for virus samples obtained from patients and which is only temporary, the media is tasked tokeep the virus throughout the delivery process from the location of sampling to the purposeof the sample test laboratory. The problem that occurs today is that the collection or recording of VTM distribution is still done manually. Employees of the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office recorded using sheet form paper , causing errors in recording. For this reason, a system is needed to record, monitor data and predict to help data processing employees in predicting the number of VTM requests in hospitals. In this study using the Single Exponential Smoothing Method, the Single Exponential Smoothing method used in predicting the number of VTM requests uses short-term forecasting to calculate data samples. The Single Exponential Smoothing forecasting method performs calculations using the value of ? = 0.1 to 0.9. Next, the calculation of the error value with the Calculation of Mean Square Error (MSE) to find the smallest error value to be used for prediction. The results of the calculations obtained the smallest MSE error value is 115.37381 (alpha = 0.9). From the results of this study is a web-based application designed to create a recording application monitoring and predicting the number of VTM requests in hospitals using the Single Exponential Smoothing method, an applicationthat can predict the number of VTM requests in hospitals for the next day where the results can be a reference for the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office to find out that the hospital is experiencing an increase in patients. covid-19 or decrease in covid-19 patients.
