Abstract :
Distribution Network is one of the electric power systems that cannot avoid interference, especially short circuit disturbances, both three phase short circuit, phase with phase or short circuit between phase and ground. To localize the interference, a protection system is needed which meets the requirements of sensitivity, reliability, selectivity and speed. Protection equipment that is often used in distribution systems is over current relay (OCR) and ground fault relay
(GFR), which is a relay that functions to give PMT commands to open, so that the disturbed channels are separated from the network. In this study discussed the security system of short circuit inter phase with phase using OCR and phase-toground short circuit using GFR as a safety, and calculating the coordination of OCR and GFR relay settings. The location of the study was the feeder F6 Belakang Balok at the Padang Luar substation. Where calculations are done manually and assisted by the Microsoft Exel program. From the calculation of the short circuit fault current obtained, then the OCR and GFR relay settings are calculated which are installed on the incoming and outgoing sides. After that, the calculation of the relay settings is compared with the results of the relay settings installed on the distribution network of 20 kV Padang Luar Substation in F6 Belakang Balok
