Abstract :
Road pavement is a very important structural construction to support vehicle loads. Stone
Matrix Asphalt is a type of hot asphalt mixture that can be used for surfaces with several
layer characteristics that can provide several advantages for motorists because it has a
fairly high skid resistance, and has a good macro texture so that it can reduce water
splashes on the road surface. wet one. By using natural fiber added ingredients in the form
of pineapple leaves (pineapple-leaf-fibres), and natural cellulose rice fiber (cellulose rice
fiber) which aims to increase the value of stability and marshall immersion. The purpose
of this study was to determine the value of the marshall characteristics, the value of the
optimum asphalt content (KAO), and the value of the residual strength index. In this
study, the use of pineapple leaf fiber and rice bran in a mixture of stone matrix asphalt.
The added material used is pineapple leaf fiber variation of 0.3% and rice bran by
1%,3%,5%,7%,9%. Based on the test results, the KAO value was 6.25%, then made the
test object with the addition of rice bran and cellulose fiber, and carried out the marshall
immersion test. The Marshall Immersion test is a comparison of the stability value of
immersion 24 hours with 30 minutes to get the value of the durability or residual strength
index of the asphalt mixture. The durability values obtained are 92.98%, 94.796%,
95.926%, 84.349%, 80.846%. From the marshall immersion test, the optimum variation
is the third variation with a durability value of 95.926%.
