Abstract :
Indonesia is a country with a very high earthquake intensity. One of the cities in Indonesia is Yogyakarta. According to BMKG some time ago earthquakes often occur in the area of Yogyakarta in 2006 and the latest earthquake occurred again in 2017. The earthquake occurred due to a shift of tectonic plates around the area of Yogyakarta. Regarding this matter, infrastructure development in Yogyakarta area must consider the load caused by earthquake in structure design.
In this study discusses the analysis of a building structure against earthquake loads by time history analysis method using ground motion recording in Imperial Valley, Loma Prieta, Northridge, and Tabas Iran. This research, can know the influence of earthquake load on the response of the building structure that is the base shear force and displacement of the building structure with shearwall and without shearwall. This building structure is analyzed with the help of computer program.
The results of this study indicate that the maximum base shear force occurs when analyzed by Northridge earthquake recording ground motion of 3,284 kN X and 3,459 kN Y direction for buildings without shearwall. Maximum base shear force of buildings with shearwall of 3,371 kN in direction X and 3,942 kN direction Y. Maximum displacement also occurs when analyzed with Northridge earthquake recording ground motion for the X direction obtained in buildings using shearwall of 25,033 mm at a height of 24 m while the maximum displacement direction Y is obtained in buildings without shearwall of 40,085 mm at a height of 24 m. As well as on buildings without shearwall for second and third floor buildings are not eligible to withstand the drift from the Northridge earthquake.
