Abstract :
Train accidents are still common in Indonesia. In 2018 there were 395 cases of train
accidents with a total of 245 fatalities. Identified Object is a tool that works by using a
laser beam to determine the presence of objects on the train track. This tool helps the
driver to take action so that accidents do not occur. To determine the performance of the
Identified Object tool, a distance reading test was carried out by providing variations in
distance changes, differences inp test time, and differences in weather conditions
consisting of non-rainy conditions and rainy conditions. The accuracy of the Identified
Object tool is calculated by measuring the error value on the test. The farther the test
distance, the greater the error value. While the test conditions at night have better
accuracy than the morning and afternoon. The average error value of the test time at
night is 0.79% in non-rainy conditions and 4.09% in rainy conditions. Rainy weather
conditions have an error value of 4.23%, this value is greater than non-rainy conditions,
which is 0.94%. T-test and ANOVA analysis were performed to see the significance of the
differences. The results of the analysis show that differences in distance treatment,
differences in test time, and differences in weather conditions do not affect the
performance of the Identified Object tool, so that this tool can potentially be used in the
railway system in Indonesia.
