Abstract :
In the transformer there is a protection relay whose duty is to directly protect the transformer, namely a differential relay where this relay is the main protection that works as quickly as possible without having to coordinate with other protection relays. by determining the setting value on the differential relay can minimize the occurrence of disturbances in the transformer. Where the manual re-calculation of the differential relay setting value is carried out, based on the calculation results, a setting value of 0.3 In is obtained which is in accordance with the setting value of the GT1.1 Transformer PLTGU Tanjung Priok then based on this value a simulation will be carried out using Omicron software with three cases, namely from the first simulation results were carried out using the Isett manual calculation, there was a green indicator which indicated that this test was successfully carried out and the relay was successfully working with the nominal time. And from the second result, when 10 fault points are given arbitrarily, there are several points where the differential relay does not work because the fault point is outside the relay working area. From the third simulation, it was proved from several samples of fault points that the relay worked only in its operating area and from the results of the proof, it can be concluded that Idiff and Ibias in the simulation are close to the excel calculation values performed. It can be concluded that the setting value used in PLTGU Priok GT 1.1 has a good setting value by testing several fault points on the relay.
