Abstract :
This study was conducted based on the results of routine maintenance of insulation resistance and oil penetrating voltage carried out on the JR2 distribution substation transformer Schneider brand serial number 13-96725 in UP3 Pondok Gede, found the results of testing isolation prisoners whose polarization index values are in the range of values 1,1-1,25 when compared to the IEEE Std 43-2000 standard the value of the polarization index is still questionable for a good polarization index value expressed in the range of values of 1,25-2 (>2 is stated to be excellent). Then the oil breakdown voltage test obtained the average penetrating voltage is 20,3 kV which is when compared with standard SPLN 49-1:1982 the value of such a penetrating voltage is still in poor condition, for a good value of penetrating voltage is expressed at a value of >30 kV. Research methods which is used in distribution transformers to improve their oil insulation, namely by muddying the oil insulation where this purification is a transformer oil purification process to reduce or eliminate contamination in the form of particles, water content, gas content and other physical contamination through a tool called a purification machine. The result of this study is are as foolows: after purification of the JR2 distribution substation transformer oil, the results of the JR2 distribution substation obtained its polarization index value rose from a range of values of 1,35-2,20 and its oil translucent voltage rose to 40,5 kV.
