Abstract :
Water demands is primer necessity in society that must be fulfilled by government, besides other necessity that obtained by natural resource management. Karanganyar district located in the east part from middle java province and is an area with a few water sources available in summer. Because the limitation of water source in this area dam is needed to accommodate water during rainy season so that water in river system will not be wasted. Gondang dam is one of the dam that build for multiple purpose, where is the main postpose is to become water supply for 4630 ha farming land in karanganyar district and sragen district. To begin the construction to build the dam there is preparation work that must be done and build diversion tunnel first. The purposes of Diversion tunnel are to divert, accommodated river stream so that the downstream become dry and there is room for begin the construction. These research explain about optimization river diversion in gondang dam because there is runoff to cofferdam. The result is increasing the dimension of river diversion from the first plan 2,5m x 2,5 m to 3,5 m x 3,5 m. And for cofferdam elevatiob with first plan in +492.00 m had been increased to +501.125 m.
