Abstract :
This study aims to determine the effect of temperature on corona disturbances at distribution substations and the magnitude of the power losses. The 20 kV medium-voltage connection equipment in the inner pair distribution substation is a cubicle. The PLN working voltage on the single-phase distribution side is 11.56kV. With the higher the voltage, the insulation problem arises in the equipment in the cubicle. The problem that often occurs in cubicles today is the corona, which is a phenomenon that occurs when the air around the conductor or conductor is ionized. From this process there is a discharge that can result in the failure of the insulation in the air. The effect of temperature on corona losses can then be analyzed for indications of whether or not there is a corona in the cubicle. From the data of the substation used, it can be calculated the magnitude of the power losses, the consequences of which are fatal because they can cause physical damage to the equipment in the cubicle, causing audio noise and power losses. The measurement results obtained at the BTRY substation have a temperature value of 32?C resulting in a power loss of 4,725 kW, then at the BTRB substation the temperature value is 35?C resulting in a power loss of 2,554 kW, and at the BTTI substation the temperature value is 31?C resulting in a power loss of 6,566 kW.
