Abstract :
In this study, we will discuss how the influence of water content and the effect of temperature on the value of the breakdown voltage on distribution transformer oil will affect the value of the performance of the transformer. Several tests were carried out in order to maintain optimal performance of transformer oil, including the breakdown voltage test or commonly called the Break Down Voltage test, abbreviated as BDV. The breakdown voltage test aims to determine the maximum voltage limit that can be overcome by transformer oil before it finally breaks down. In the test results, the highest increase occurred at a temperature of 45 °C with an increase value of 6.19 kV while the results of testing the effect of water content on the breakdown voltage from these results showed that the higher the amount of water contained in the test object, the higher the breakdown voltage. obtained it will be lower, in the table data the highest breakdown voltage value is found in oil which has a water content of 0 ml with a value of 25.73 kV, while the lowest breakdown voltage value has a water content value of 12 ml with a voltage value of 15.81 Kv.
