Abstract :
In the distribution of electric power, there may be disturbances that cannot be avoided, one of which is a short circuit. At the Cawang Baru GI Biku feeder, there are cable disturbances due to SKTM jointing and also travel times that are not in accordance with the settings, therefore, a short circuit current calculation is carried out and a recalculation of the Over Current Relay (OCR) and Ground Fault Relay (GFR) relay settings. used as network system protection, this relay works against overcurrent, will work when the current flows exceeds the setting value. To find out the relay settings, a short-circuit fault current calculation occurs in the Biku field, a 3-phase fault at 0.859 km is 12638.701 A, while a short-circuit fault current at a single-phase fault at a distance of 8,590 km is 826,878 A. Setting the OCR before the trip time is 0.769 seconds and after calculating the OCR setting with a trip time of 0.331 seconds. For setting the GFR data before the trip time is 0.763 seconds and after calculating the GFR setting the trip time is 0.307 seconds. This proves that it is necessary to reset the overcurrent relay and ground fault relay so that the relay works selectively and in isolating fault currents when they occur in 100% network length and so that they do not spread throughout the system so as to reduce losses or unsaved energy.
