Abstract :
One of the electrical equipment installed at the distribution substation is a cubicle, the cubicle functions as a divider, breaker, controller liaison and protection of the 20 kV electric power distribution system. In a 20 kV cubicle, partial discharge can occur, partial discharge itself is a phenomenon or event of the release / jump of electric sparks that occurs in a part of the insulation (in the inner cavity or on the surface) as a result of the high potential difference in the insulation which can also be called insulation failure. Due to the difficulty of directly identifying these disturbances using the human senses, the ultrasound method with a sound sensor is used. Ultrasound is a multi- application sound sensor with complete features that can determine the location of the partial discharge through a sound sensor so that the source of the sound generated from the partial discharge can be found. Not only can it detect partial discharge, this tool can also detect pipe leaks, Steam Trap, Tracking, Engine Lubrication, Pump Cavitation, Arching and others. Moreover, the ultrasound device has a color LCD screen, can analyze directly, and can view graphs along with recordings in real time.
