Abstract :
The ground wire of the transmission line is hit by lightning, there will be a voltage in the form of a wave, the wave will propagate from the point that was struck to the next tower, then it also propagates to the grounding of the tower. There is a difference between the ground surge impedance and the tower surge impedance, which can cause the wave to be reflected back to the top of the tower. The way to reduce the tower surge impedance can be done by reducing the grounding of the tower foot. The transmission system is an electrical system that plays an important role for the process of distributing electrical energy, so the safety on the transmission network is carried out routine maintenance 1 year, usually problems in the transmission network are lightning strikes, short circuits and others. The grounding system is a circuit that starts from the electrode poles and connects the conductor to the grounding terminal. Lightning is characterized by a bright white flash followed by a violent flash. Lightning is a natural phenomenon that occurs everywhere during the rainy season and of course in Indonesia. The soil resistivity at grounding resistance is Tower 11 of 4.71 m, Tower 12 of 7.4 m, Tower 20 of 0.09 m, Tower 27 of 2.68 m, Tower 30 of 0.45 m, Tower 31 of 0, 77 m.
