Abstract :
The separator has a connection point consisting of two different conductors that cause resistance to the current through the connection so that there is a possibility of overheating of the components as well as technical losses. To reduce these disturbances, the separator needs to be maintained. Prior to maintenance, temperature measurements were carried out using the thermovision method and in these measurements it was found that there was a hotspot anomaly on the separator blade so maintenance was necessary. It was found that during maintenance, the separation knife melted and when measured the contact resistance had a value of 76.5 for the R phase, 125.8 in the S phase and 130.2 in the T phase, where these results exceeded the established standards, namely below 50µ?. From these results, the separation knife must be replaced to improve the value of the contact resistance on the separator. After maintenance with the replacement of the blade separating the contact resistance in the R phase which is 15.67 , the S phase is 6.56µ? and in the T phase 12.09 , where the results are already below the standard set. From the contact resistance measurement, an analysis of power loss due to contact resistance was also carried out and from the analysis it was found that the greater the contact resistance value, the greater the power loss obtained by PT. PLN (Persero). After maintenance, a temperature check was carried out to monitor the condition of the separator blade and it was found that there were no hotspot anomalies on the separator blade.
