Abstract :
PLN is the main electricity company that distributes electricity to the public. What will be a problem is when the PLN electricity source is disturbed which can cause power outages, so that it will interfere with human activities. Therefore, it can take advantage of alternative energy sources, namely electricity sources from solar power as a backup power source with a combination of PLN electricity. The combination can use the design of the power source automation to the load with the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) system. The Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) system utilizes the performance of a contactor that has NC (Normally Close) and NO (Normally Open) contacts in order to limit or supply electricity to the electrical load. The research carried out is by making design drawings, collecting materials, and testing the Automatic Transfer Switch circuit. The tests that have been carried out have found a match between theory and application in the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) work system and get an overview of performance when using a solar power source that can operate for 41 minutes for electrical loads and when using batteries it can operate 30 minutes for loads. electricity works.
