Abstract :
Transformer is an electrical equipment used in transforming voltage from low voltage to high voltage and vice versa high to low voltage. The failure of the distribution transformer to work can be affected by the time and age of the transformer. Therefore, it is necessary to do maintenance on the distribution transformer in order to determine the condition of the transformer. One of the tests carried out is insulation resistance testing and breakdown voltage testing. Insulation resistance testing aims to determine the condition of the insulation of the equipment, the factors that affect the value of the insulation resistance are dirt, moisture, and damage to components on the transformer. Based on the IEEE 43-2013 standard, the insulation resistance test is said to be good if the value exceeds >2.1 G? and is said to be bad if the value is less than <2.1 G?. The breakdown voltage test aims to determine the condition of the transformer oil which functions as insulation and cooling of the transformer. Transformer oil as an insulating material must have the ability to withstand breakdown voltages. The factor that affects the breakdown voltage value is oil impurity. Based on SPLN D3-2:2007: oil must meet the requirements of IEC 60296 with a breakdown voltage of 50 kV/2.5 mm. the tested transformer has an insulation resistance value of less than 1000 x working voltage and the breakdown voltage value of 36 kV does not meet the standard.
