Abstract :
The development of technology is increasingly rapid in modern life as it is today, electricity is needed as an energy source. The increasing demand for electrical energy requires the availability of efficient and quality electrical energy. PT. PLN (Persero) has three levels in the distribution of electricity, including the generation level, transmission level and distribution level, causing many problems to occur in it. One of the problems in transmission and distribution lines is power losses caused by several factors. In a distribution line usually has the largest voltage drop and power losses. The power losses at the Lamteumen LTU 01-00 feeder distribution substation and the Lamteumen LTU 19-01 feeder distribution substation there are several that exceed the standard. The standard limit for power loss is 10% (SPLN no.72 of 1987) which states that the tolerance value of power loss is 10%, there are several ways to improve power loss, one of which is shortening the length of the line because the length of the conductor line is one of the factors in the occurrence of power loss. or by changing the type of conductor and the cross-sectional area of a conductor.
