Abstract :
Palu area is one of the regions in Indonesia that still relies on power plant from conventional energy, namely PLTD (Diesel Power Electricity Generator) with diesel fuel. If all regions use electricity generation from conventional energy such as diesel and petroleum continuously then it?s likely that fossil fuels will be depleted and even exhausted. There must be a solution to reduce dependence on conventional plants and the use of fossil fuels by making the design of hybrid power plants PLTS 30 kWp and PLTD RE 90 kW with pellet fuel to supply PLN through a 100 kVA distribution transformer. By knowing the PLTH design is the right solution, it is necessary to calculate Energy Yield (EY) and Performance Ratio (PR) to determine the performance of the PLTS in Palu area and calculate the fuel usage in the PLTD RE. Where the results of Ey = 74460 kWh / year and PR = 85% for PLTS while, the total consumption of diesel in PLTD RE is only 38.3 liters / day and 13,979.5 Liters / Year for 3 units of PLTD RE. If this design is used in each distribution transformer, then this PLTH can be the right solution to reduce dependence and use of fossil fuels.
