Abstract :
Currently, Muara Karang Power Generation Unit is trying to save electrical energy in
its area, one of which is by building a 33 kWp Solar Power Plant on the roof of
administration building. To obtain optimal saving, the amount of energy produced by
Solar Power Plant is very influential. Therefore, it is also necessary to conduct an
analysis related to the performance of Solar Power Plant in order to determine its effect
on self consumption load.. Based on the results of the study, the highest Performance
Ratio (PR) was obtained in October 2021, which was 98.04% and the smallest PR value
in February 2022, which was 94.63%. The PR value may vary as it is influenced by
several factors such as shade, sun, and the cleanliness of the solar panels. With
installed Solar Power Plant, Muara Karang Power Generation Unit saves Rp
10,623,500/month. If this nominal increases the amount of electricity that is obtained
every month, then in 1 year it can reduce the energy tariff up to Rp. 127,482,000. The
payback period of the installed Solar Power Plant is obtained for 10 years, this result is
acceptable because the total initial investment cost can be covered before the Solar
Power Plant's lifetime which is 25 years.
