Abstract :
The electrical load used in the electrical system in the apartment is inductive where the load has reactive power so that it can reduce the value of the power factor. From this, this study aims to improve the value of the power factor by adding a capacitor bank to the electrical load. The Stature Jakarta is an apartment building in which there are various electrical equipment installed, most of which are inductive. of the many inductive loads installed on the electrical system of The Stature Jakarta Building, this can cause a decrease in the power factor or cos value, if the power factor is small or low it can cause losses in the form of voltage drops, increased kVA needs, and others. For a bad power factor, this can be corrected in one way, namely by installing a capacitor bank. To improve the power factor from 0.85 to 0.95, the capacitor bank capacity is calculated to improve the power factor. capacitor bank also affects the amount of current, active power and reactive power. So it can be concluded that with the addition of a capacitor bank in electrical equipment, in addition to saving the use of electric current, it can also extend the life of the equipment
