Abstract :
Unit Pembangkit Muara Karang has started to make an energy transition as
evidenced by the power plant which is not only a Steam Power Plant (PLTU), but also
has developed a Solar Power Plant (PLTS). PLTS in Administration Building has long
been installed since 2016 and continues until now. During the 6 years of operation, the
PLTS experienced a decrease in the performance ratio and efficiency value, so
maintenance was needed. This study aims to optimize the On Grid PLTS with a capacity
of 15 kWp at the Muara Karang Generating Unit, in order to find out whether there is
an increase or not after maintenance. The research model used is a single line diagram
of PLTS rooftop On Grid, then the calculations can be done manually. The results of
measurements and calculations obtained that the average value of efficiency before
maintenance is 12.96% slot A and 12.62% slot B. While the average efficiency value
obtained after maintenance is 13.10% slot A and 13.02% slot B. Efficiency value
increased after maintenance, namely 0.14% for slot A and 0.4% for slot B. The ratio of
performance before and after maintenance was 84% and 91%, respectively. The value
of the performance ratio has increased after maintenance by 7%. The decrease in
efficiency and performance ratio is caused by the small value of the intensity of solar
radiation absorbed by the solar panels, the influence of temperature, loose cable
connectors, shadows, and dirt that covers the solar panels.
