Abstract :
Auxiliary power of the power plant is used to support the operational needs of the plant. Currently, PLTU 45 Muara Karang has requested RSH/(Reserve Shutdown). In this study, a study was conducted on how much electrical energy is needed every month to maintain the readiness of the plant. The data analysis method for processing data serves to conclude the research results. The data obtained is data in the form of numbers so that calculations are needed. The formula used is the formula to determine the power capacity. The percentage of own use of a Steam Power Plant (PLTU) is 4-6% of the total electricity production. At the Muara Karang PLTU, there are two PLTU units, each with a capacity of 200 MW. From the research, it was found that the amount of power used for own use during the RSH unit was 142,666kWh per month or equivalent to Rp. 356,666,667. The reference power required for the operation of the equipment when the RSH unit is 5,312,055kWh. Actual power required for equipment operation when unit RSH 3,828,009,89kWh. The cost required for the operation of the equipment at the time of the RSH unit is Rp. 57,420,148, - for the consumption of 22,968,059 kWh of electrical power or 22% of the total self-use for one month of 102,100 kWh. The most optimal pattern of equipment testing is to reduce the operating hours of the equipment operation when the RSH unit is without reducing the reliability of the equipment.
