Abstract :
An electronic device can work if there is a power supply given to the device. Solar energy
is an alternative energy to generate electricity which has high potential in Indonesia. One
way to optimize the output of solar panels is the use of reflectors. In this study, the design
and manufacture of PLTS will test the effect of reflectors on the irradiance and output of
solar panels to meet load power requirements. PLTS components include solar panels
20Wp to convert sunlight into electricity, solar charger controller 10A as a solar panel
voltage controller, batteries 12V 11Ah as electrical energy storage, use of reflectors to
optimize solar panel output. From the measurement of the total load power, the result is
1,0483 Watt. The results showed that the output of solar panels with reflectors was
greater than without reflectors where the average irradiance and power in solar panels
with reflectors was 911,444 W/m2 and 10,141 Watts, while solar panels without reflectors
were 849,556 W/m2 and 8,999 Watts.
