Abstract :
Sources of electrical energy in Indonesia are currently still dominated by coal-fired power
plants. However, power grids with coal-fired sources are difficult to reach remote areas. The
use of small-scale hydroelectric power plants is easier to apply in areas with hydropower
potential in remote areas. Sri Bandung Village, district. Abung Tengah, Kab. North Lampung
has the potential to be used as a Micro Hydro Power Plant. This study aims to measure the
water discharge data and the amount of head (water fall height) directly on the PLTMH, then
to determine the output power of the micro hydro power plant and determine the types of
turbines and generators that will be used in planning the PLTMH. The method used is using
data collection methods by using measurement and calculation methods.. Based on the
analysis that has been carried out, the flow of the Sribandung Village River can technically
be used to generate electricity with an effective fall height of 5 meters and a reliable
discharge using a mainstay discharge Q of 0.56 m3/s. With the available discharge and fall
height, PLTMH uses a Crossflow turbine. The amount of electrical energy produced by
PLMTH in Sribandung Village is 15.9 kW with an annual energy of 139,279 kWH.
