Abstract :
In the distribution of electricity needs, good electricity management is needed in
order to increase the efficiency of electricity use. To meet the needs of electricity, there is
an important component, namely a transformer. This study discusses two three-phase dry
transformers with a capacity of 4000 kVA and a capacity of 3500 kVA with a voltage of
20 kV/400V and 20 kV/400V. The method used is descriptive qualitative which is done by
interview and observation of two transformers at the same time. This study aims to
analyze the effect of transformer winding temperature on losses and the resulting
efficiency so that when the winding temperature is highest it can be seen that the higher
the winding temperature, the smaller the losses generated because when the highest
winding temperature conditions are obtained, the winding resistance is low. In a 4000
kVA transformer with a winding temperature of 75.2?, a loss of 22.38 kW was obtained
and a 3500 kVA transformer with a winding temperature of 75.8? obtained a loss of
28.27 kW. While efficiency is influenced by losses and loading, the greater the losses and
loading, the smaller the efficiency of the transformer. The efficiency of the 4000 kVA
transformer is 95.75% and the 3500 kVA transformer is 96.36%.
