Abstract :
With the development of human needs, the need for automatic electrical energy also
increases. To overcome this, a transformer is used to adjust the required voltage. A tap
changer is needed to meet the quality of the mains voltage to serve the needs of electrical
energy. This study uses a three-phase dry transformer with a capacity of 3500 kVA 20 kV
/ 400 V and 4000 kVA 20 kV / 400 V. The method used in this study is a qualitative
descriptive method to collect the necessary data. The purpose of this study is to determine
the operational feasibility of a dry transformer based on the calculation of the deviation
whose tolerance limit refers to the IEEE C57.12.01 standard of ±0.5%. The results of the
transformation ratio obtained in the condition of the largest input voltage at the 3500
kVA transformer is 49.94 and the 4000 kVA transformer is 49.95. From the results of the
measurement turn ratio calculation in the condition of the largest input voltage at the
3500 kVA transformer, which is 86.50 and the 4000 kVA transformer is 86.52, then the
deviation is calculated on the two transformers when the highest input voltage is obtained
at the 3500 kVA transformer which is -0.04 % and the 4000 kVA transformer is -0.05%
so that based on the IEEE C57.12.01 standard it is said to be feasible to operate because
the value is ±0.5%.
