Abstract :
Protection is a form of protection against electrical equipment in order to minimize
damage to equipment caused by interference. One of the electrical equipment that requires
protection is a power transformer. Protection on power transformers is differential relay
as primary protection and overcurrent relay as backup protection. In this study, an analysis
was carried out on the differential and overcurrent protection settings or OCR/GFR
installed on the unit 5 transformer at the 150 kV Bogor Baru Substation. The setting is
calculated based on the theory of setting calculations and data on transformers and relays
in the substation. In setting up each of these relays, several stages of calculation are used.
Among them for differential relays, the 20 kV side CT ratio is 2000/1A, the 150 kV side
CT ratio is 300/1A. Slope K1 of 31.165% is assumed to be 30% by PLN standards. The
result of setting calculation shows a smaller value than the setting used. This is because
the calculation results are based on parameter data after a CT change due to interference.
But a smaller setting current value will increase the sensitivity of the relay. Meanwhile,
for overcurrent relays with the standard inverse type, the TMS value and working time of
the relay will be compared with the settings used. The calculation results show a value
that is in accordance with the settings at the 150 kV Bogor Baru Substation.
