Abstract :
The circuit breaker (PMT) functions as an arc extinguishing medium when an electric current is cut off (load current or fault current) and as insulation between live parts (fixed contact and moving contact in the breaker chamber) in the PMT. Currently SF6 gas is widely used in PMT or GIS (Gas Insulating Switchyard) ranging from 20 kV to 500 kV because SF6 gas has better properties/characteristics than other types of breaker media. Measurement of the quality of SF6 gas is carried out to find out whether the SF6 gas is still suitable or has to be replaced. Measurement of SF6 gas was carried out with the aim of knowing the value of the quality of the gas and to find out the effect that occurs with the quality value of the gas. Measurement of SF6 gas is carried out with a tool called the Multi Analyzer. Measurements of SF6 gas quality include pressure, impurity, humidity temperature and water vapor content, and product decomposition. In measuring the quality of SF6 gas, the results of gas pressure measured at PMT 7B2 before replacing SF6 gas were 7.18 bar and after replacing SF6 gas, it was obtained at 7.03 bar. The impurity is around 97%, the humidity point before replacement is -44.27 degrees Celsius and after replacement is smaller at -41.33, the decomposition of the product before replacement is in the R phase 78.4, S phase 81.9, and in the T phase 128.5 and after replacement becomes the R phase 110.3, S phase 51.66, and T phase 120.5
