Abstract :
The title of the thesis is Bentuk Perlawanan Terhadap Konsep Perbudakan dalam The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave, Karya Frederick Douglass. The writer observes the forms of slavery, the effect of slavery, and the forms of rebellion as a reaction to the system of slavery, which is not appropriate with human rights. The research method used is descriptive. The writer analyzes each data of Frederick Douglass’s work, and then classifies them based on each category. In this research, the writer divides the data into three main groups that are the data which are related to forms of slavery, the effect of slavery, and the forms of rebellion. From these groups of data, the writer clusters them into three groups. The first group is a group of data indicating two forms of slavery. The second group is a group of data indicating two forms of the effect of slavery. The third group is a group of data indicating five forms of against to its slavery. Based on the analysis, the writer concludes that the forms of slavery related to the system of slavery are not appropriate with human rights. It influences some of groups of people. Therefore, the last, come forms of rebellion grows among the groups of people as a reaction to the system of slavery that putted them into a corner.
