Abstract :
ABSTRAK Yosien Sampe Allo : TONGKONAN DAN DEMOKRASI ?Studi Politik Identitas Tongkonan dalam Pemilu 2024 di Lembang Rante Uma.? (Dibimbing oleh Sumiati Putri Natalia dan Markus Sakke Pauranan). Identitas Tongkonan, sebagai simbol kebudayaan, kehidupan sosial dan kepemimpinan masyarakat Toraja, yang memiliki pengaruh untuk pembentukan suatu politik identitas. Pemilihan topik didasari oleh kenyataan di lapangan bahwa Politik identitas tongkonan dipakai caleg melalui kampanye politik di lembang Rante Uma sehingga tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis peran serta pengaruh politik identitas yang dimiliki oleh Tongkonan dalam pemilihan umum di Lembang Rante Uma pada tahun 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan wacana kritis dimana data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara langsung, observasi, dan content Analysis. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh penulis menunjukkan bahwa peranan politik identitas tongkonan membantu untuk pemilih untuk mengetahui siapa caleg tersebut melalui hasil analisis data mendapatkan bahwa politik identitas tidak mempengaruhi terpilihnya caleg. Kata Kunci: Demokrasi, Politik Identitas, Pemilu, Tongkonan. ABSTRAC Yosien Sampe Allo : TONGKONAN AND DEMOCRACY "Study of Tongkonan Identity Politics in the 2024 Election in Lembang Rante Uma." Tongkonan identity, as a symbol of culture, social life and leadership of Toraja society, has an influence on the formation of a political identity. The choice of topic is based on the reality in the field that Tongkonan identity politics is used by legislative candidates through political campaigns in Lembang Rante Uma so the main aim of this research is to analyze the role and influence of identity politics held by Tongkonan in the general election in Lembang Rante Uma in 2024. This research uses a qualitative method with a critical discourse approach where data is collected through direct interviews, observation and content analysis. The research results obtained by the author show that the role of tongkonan identity politics helps voters to find out who the legislative candidates are. Through the results of the analysis, it was found that identity politics did not influence the election of legislative candidates. Keywords: Democracy, Identity Politics, Election, Tongkonan.
