Abstract :
Krisis ekologi telah menjadi kekhawatiran dunia saat ini baik secara global maupun pada dimensi lokal. Kerusakan ekologi akan menjadi bencana besar bagi umat manusia dan harus dicegah. Gereja tidak dapat berdiam diri begitu saja, mesti ada upaya yang dilakukan. Tulisan ini menjadi salah satu upaya Gereja dalam berteologi untuk berkontribusi pada isu krisis ekologi. Nilai eskatologi dalam Zefanya 1:2-3 menjadi rujukan untuk dikaji oleh penulis. Eskatologi tidak dapat dilihat sebagai sesuatu yang pasif namun perlu dilakukan secara aktif oleh manusia. Pada titik inilah, eskatologi tidak lagi dilihat sebagai pemusnahan dan penghancuran namun menjadi sebuah pemulihan khususnya kepada pemulihan alam semesta. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode reader response criticism di Jemaat Sa?dan Matallo. Metode ini dipilih agar nilai eskatologi dalam Zefanya 1:2-3 benar-benar berangkat dari pengalaman hidup pembaca dan sesuai dengan konteks kehidupan saat ini. Kata Kunci: Eskatologi, Ekologi, Respon, Gereja. Abstract The ecological crisis has become a concern for the world today both globally and at the local dimension. Ecological damage will be catastrophic for humanity and must be prevented. The Church cannot remain silent, there must be efforts made. This paper is one of the Church's efforts in theology to contribute to the issue of ecological crisis. The value of eschatology in Zephaniah 1:2-3 becomes a reference to be studied by the author. Eschatology cannot be seen as something passive but needs to be done actively by humans. At this point, eschatology is no longer seen as annihilation and destruction but a restoration, especially to the restoration of the universe. The research was conducted using the reader response criticism method in the Sa'dan Matallo congregation. This method was chosen so that the value of eschatology in Zephaniah 1:2-3 really departs from the reader's life experience and is in accordance with the context of life today.
