Abstract :
The Bombay cat is a branch of the domestic cat that is the result of a cross between an American short-haired cat and a Burmese cat developed in Louvisville, Kentucky, in 1958, by Nikki Horner. The Bombay cat has a flat and cool expression that makes people think the Bombay cat is a stealthy incarnation and a symbol of bad luck. Myths about Bombay cats still exist today, especially in some rural areas in Java which still perform rituals of salvation from the bad luck of Bombay cats. The meaning of the plant ornament used is to neutralize the black color of the Bombay cat so it doesn't look creepy.
The creation of this final project uses an ethological and aesthetic approach, while the creation method uses practicebased research.
The seven interior element batik workps use the Bombay cat expression motif by taking several expressions on the bombay cat, plant ornaments, star motifs, and a little macrame technique.
