Abstract :
ABSTRAK Rendahnya kemampuan membaca puisi dengan baik menjadi permasalahan tersendiri dalam pembelajaran sastra Indonesia. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dibutuhkan teknik dan metode yang tepat untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca puisi siswa, dalam hal ini melalui pelatihan dasar teater. Adapun Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) memperbaiki proses pembelajaran membaca puisi, (2) mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan Pelatihan Dasar Teater dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca puisi, dan (3) mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan membaca puisi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian tindakan ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui penelitian tindakan kelas dengan pendekatan komunikatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Prosedur dalam penelitian dilaksanakan sebanyak tiga siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah kelas X 3 SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 30 siswa, terdiri atas 22 siswa putri dan 8 siswa putra. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik observasi dan tes unjuk kerja membaca puisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan penyempurnaan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) melalui pelatihan dasar teater yaitu dari siklus I kategori cukup, siklus II kategori baik, dan siklus III kategori baik sekali. Peningkatan juga terjadi pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran membaca puisi melalui pelatihan dasar teater yaitu dari siklus I kategori cukup, siklus II kategori baik, dan siklus III kategori baik sekali. Sistem penilaian juga mengalami peningkatan yaitu pada siklus I rata-rata 64,83, siklus II 77,17, dan siklus III 85,83. Peningkatan kemampuan membaca puisi melalui pelatihan dasar teater yaitu dari siklus I siswa mencapai ketuntasan 30%, siklus II 70%, dan siklus III 100%. Kata kunci: kemampuan membaca, teks puisi, dan pelatihan dasar teater. To resolve this problem needed proper ways and methods to improve students' ability to read poetry, for example through theater basic training. The purposes of this study were: 1) to improve the process of learning in reading poetry, 2) to describe the implementation of theater basic training in enhancing the ability in reading poetry, and 3) to describe the increasing ability in reading poetry. Method used in the improvement of this action is qualitative descriptive through class action research by a communicative approach. Data were collected by interview, observation, documentation. Procedure in this research was conducted by three cycles. Subject of this research is a class X3 SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro in academic year 2014/2015 by totaling 30 students, consisting of 22 female students and 8 male students.
