ABSTRACT THERMAL AND ELECTRICAL PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS OF THERMAL PHOTOVOLTAIC (PV/T) WITH VARIATIONS OF THICKNESS OF ANGLE FIN ABSORBER By FERNANDO The performance characteristics of flat plate solar collectors are influenced by several parameters. Starting from the type of material used to the shape of the absorber fins. Not only that, the arrangement of the fins, the angle used, and the thickness of the absorber plate also affect the performance characteristics of the solar collector. This study aims to determine the effect and comparison of PV and PVP by installing angled fin absorber plates with a thickness of 1 mm and 2 mm by experimental testing in a room using a solar simulator. By paying attention to the decrease in solar panel temperature, thermal efficiency, electrical power obtained and electrical efficiency, the results obtained in this study are that PV/T using an angled fin absorber with a thickness of 2 mm experiences higher heat transfer and the thickness of the absorber affects the duration and quantity. heat transfers from the solar panels to the plates. For the value obtained at the lowest solar panel surface temperature, the PV/T thickness of 2 mm is 57.51 C, for the highest electrical power obtained is 48.5 watts, the PV/T absorber is 2 mm, the highest thermal efficiency is 86 .7% and the highest electrical efficiency of 12.05% with an air mass flow rate of 0.340 kg/s.
