Abstract :
The role of forensic laboratories in the resolution of criminal cases in court
is to assist law enforcement in finding and proving the elements charged to the
perpetrators. With the help of a forensic laboratory will provide an overview of
the causal relationship between victims and perpetrators of crime by knowing the
statements in a forensic examination. In addition, the obtained results that in any
practice that requires the trial testimony of forensic experts, was never presented
an expert in this field to be presented in court as evidence of witnesses.
Based on the formulation of the problem which has been described, the
purpose of this study is: To know the function and role of the Forensic Laboratory
in exposing the crime of rape. In writing this law, data collected by literature
study and interview methods. Literature study of research used to collect
secondary data by reading and studying the materials related to the problems that
have been studied. By way of studying the books, literature and legislation.
Interviews conducted in support of the data obtained from literature studies. The
data obtained from the study were analyzed qualitatively, in the analysis
conducted to understand and assemble data collected systematically, so as to
obtain an overview of the problems studied.
The study data showed that, the function and role in exposing the Forensic
Laboratory of the crime of rape is to provide an explanation for the evidence in
the courts over whether a crime occurred or rape, to determine whether there is a
criminal act of rape based on a sample of blood or sperm are compatible with the
blood of the victim and whether sperm in accordance with the property of rape,
guarantee legal certainty means that the presence of forensic examination in the
laboratory, then who do that are not proven to be punished and removed, so that
the supremacy of law can be enforced.
