Abstract :
The various of issues that exist in the child rights convention one of the very need of
special attention are the children, who require special protection including children in conflict with
the law. Restorative justice is one solution that can be used by investigators to be able to protect
children in conflict with the law. Restorative Justice is a process of settlement is done outside the
criminal justice system with the involvement of victims, perpetrators, victims and perpetrators of
family, community and parties concerned with a crime that happened to reach an agreement and
settlement. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of investigators in the
implementation of restorative justice for children who are dealing with the law and the constraints
faced by investigators in the implementation of restorative justice for children who are dealing with
the law. The data obtained in the literature and field studies were processed and analyzed in a
qualitative way, that data analysis is based on what is obtained from the literature or the field, either
orally or in writing, then directed, discussed and given an explanation with applicable regulations,
and concluded with the inductive method, namely draw conclusions from the particular to the
general. The results of this study can be summed up the role of the investigator to facilitate
mediation between the two sides in order to achieve a peaceful street in a family by providing a
mediation. Constraints faced by investigators is the rules that apply in the existing legal system,
requiring the investigator to follow up on matters.
