Abstract :
Weaving as a product of culture, its fame was counterbalanced pelindungan's effort, guidance and guidance by government. That thing also happening to weave Sukerare's bind. Pelindungan, guidance and more guidance a lot of is led for effort to weave ties-up to get big scale. This study aims to analyze the role of government in providing the Central Lombok legal protection against ikat Copyright Sukerare as part of traditional intellectual property in Indonesia. In addition, this study also aims to analyze the elements of culture as one of the inhibiting factors in providing legal protection against Sukerare weaving as part of traditional intellectual property in Indonesia. This research is empirical legal research, the approach and the approach of sociological laws. The study was conducted in Hamlet Sukerare, Sukerare Village, District Jonggat, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. Respondents in this study were artisans weaving in Hamlet Sukerare. While research speakers include academics in the Faculty of Law, University of Mataram, and Deputy Head of Legal Protection of the Department of Cooperatives, SMEs, Trade and Industry Central Lombok, and Chairman of the Society Sukerare weaving artisans in Central Lombok. The results showed that the legal protection efforts undertaken by the government include the facilitation process Copyright registration and dissemination of the benefits that can be obtained by registering Copyright craftsmen. The problem is, the implementation of the local government's role is not yet optimal. It can be seen from the lack of awareness weaving artisans Copyright Sukerare to register. These conditions occurred because of several obstacles, one of the biggest obstacles is the element of culture in society Sukerare Hamlet. Cultural element is related to the principle of togetherness in the Sasak people, including people of Dusun Sukerare. The principle of making artisan assess new ikat motifs created belong together so it does not need to be registered Copyrighted. Therefore, the legal safeguards over ikat then can not run optimally.
