Abstract :
Ngguwo cave is one of the karst caves in the area of Gunung Sewu. Ngguwo cave is a newly discovered
cave Pallava UAJY in 2012. The Ngguwo cave is located in the Dusun Klepu, Giriasih Village, District
Purwosari, Gunung Kidul. Potential that has been found in the Cave Ngguwo is an underground river that is
capable of providing water to residents in the village and Giritirto Giriasih located in Gunung Kidul. Another
potential to be made by the Pallava UAJY and NGOs in Gua Gunung Sewu Ngguwo as well as the area around
the cave Ngguwo is ecotourism with the concept of education and entertainment that is based on biological
garden, protected areas, forest production, and educational tours on land irrigation simulation and pattern
utilization of agricultural land into the potential in the area. The purpose of this study was able to study the
potential spread of flora and agricultural land use patterns contained in the Cave Ngguwo as the concept of
ecotourism. Data collected to achieve the research objectives consist of primary data and secondary data.
Primary data is data mapping flora Ngguwo Cave Region, the data mapping patterns of agricultural land use in
the surrounding area Ngguwo Cave. Secondary data such as location, topography, soil type, population,
common map area Cave Ngguwo, socioeconomic circumstances, temperature, humidity, pH, light intensity, and
supporting data for ecotourism planning Ngguwo Cave Region. Data analysis was performed in this study is
qualitative analysis and analysis kuanitatif. The data were analyzed qualitatively is the analysis of the diversity
of flora and analysis of patterns of agricultural land use. Data were analyzed by kuanitatif, analysis of the
diversity of flora and agricultural land use pattern analysis. The results in this study indicate that the forest area
in the Cave Zone Ngguwo included in the forest ecosystem season. In Cave Zone Ngguwo obtained 19 species
and a total of 772 individuals in 18 plots and 45 sub plots were made with a total area of 0.67 hectares plot is as
the unit of observation. The types of flora found in the cave area Ngguwo is Bribil (Gallinsoga parviflora Cav.),
Jati londo (Guazuma ulmifolia), Wit ri (Ziziphus spina-christi (L) Desf.), Wedusan (Ageratum conyzoides), Pule
pandak (Plumbago indica L.), Meniran (Phyllanthus urinaria Linn), Rumput geganjuran (Paspalum
commersonii Lamk.), Akasia (Acacia auriculiformis A. Cunn. Ex Bl.), Pandan (Pandanus utilis), Jarak
(Jatropha curcas), Srengenge (Hyptis capitata), Kacang tanah (Arachis hypogea L.), Jabon (Anthocephalus
cadamba), Sengon (Albizia chinensis), Duwet (Syzygium cumini), Melinjo (Gnetum gnemon L.), Jati (Tectona
grandis), Mahoni (Swietenia macrophylla), and Sonokeling (Dalbergia latifolia). Mapping the flora in the area
Cave Ngguwo in this study aims to describe the results of the analysis of the vegetation in the form of
information about the structure and composition of the vegetation in the area in the form of maps Ngguwo Cave.
Vegetation type, vegetation composition, structure of vegetation and flora in the area of the root system can be a
potential cave Ngguwo made a protected area that has ecological function and the function of the protection of
ground water in this region. INP (Importance Value Index) at the level of the tree which is found in the high
category type Mahogany. INP (Importance Value Index) at levels that were high pole found on the type of

protected area. Given that the existing vegetation in the region Cave Ngguwo potentially have on the ecological
functions of protected areas to be created. The results of the analysis of the potential of useful plants in the area
that used Ngguwo Cave Klepu Society shows that of the 19 species found, 18 species (94.74%) has been
utilized and 1 species (5.26%) has not been utilized. Species of flora in the area that has been exploited Cave Ngguwo Klepu Society is as medicine, firewood, building materials, wicker and crafts, food, fodder. The
species of flora in the area Ngguwo cave was found in this study and was used Klepu Society has potential as
productive forest. Ngguwo Cave region also has the potential for making a biological garden used as a place of
science, education and research on the vegetation in the area of Cave Ngguwo refers more to the local flora
species Ngguwo karst cave area which has an important role as an ecological function, the function of protection
