Abstract :
The research is titled "chaperone role in fostering the child victims of abuse of psychotropic
substances in the environment of jail?. The author?s formulation research is whether the
companion was able to carry out its role in fostering child victims of abuse of psychotropic in the
prison environment and what the obstacles faced by the companion guidance in the
implementation of child victims of abuse of psychotropic in the jail environment. The research
objective is to know if a companion was able to carry out its role or not in the implementation of
fostering the child victims of abuse of psychotropic drugs in the prison environment and to know
the obstacles faced by the companion guidance in the implementation of child victims of abuse
of psychotropic drugs in the jail environment. This type of research is the normative legal
research, that is normative legal literature that be done by examines the material literature that is
related with the problem which will be examinated . Data collection methods in research done by
normative legal literature and direct interviews with informants. The result of this research is that
the companion in practice has not been able to do or implement its role maximumly, just
partially that can implemented by the companion in fostering child victims of abuse of
psychotropic in the prison environment. This is because in practice the duties as an assistant is
quite difficult to implement. The role of companion that has been implemented, namely: as a
facilitator, trainner, planners, catalyst, giver of information, partisipator, mobilizers, consultative
role. While the role of the companion who has not been implemented, namely: as an advocate
and researcher. The obstacles faced by the companion guidance in\ the implementation of child
victims of abuse of psychotropic drugs in the prison environment is: it takes a long time in doing
assistance to child victims of abuse of psychotropic drugs, given the very limited time available
and the lack of professional human resources especially in the field of psychology.
