Abstract :
Children is a young generation who countinue Indonesian?s desires. That is why
we need to give law protection where in these days, children is always be the
victim of the adult. Nowadays, it is difficult to fulfill the needs and find the good
job, is making sameone lose his mind. Because of that, the parents is being forced
to exploit their childern to work on the street as beggar. In Yogyakarta it self, we
can also see many childrens work on the street. The purpose of this research is to
determine the role of Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) Foundations of
Social Research Institute (YLPS) Humana in tackling the increasing number of
street children from economic exploitation in Yogyakarta. This legal writing is
done by the method of normative legal approach. The study focuses on a review
of laws, literature studies, and interview with Non Governmental Organizations
(NGOs) Foundations of Social Research Institute (YLPS) Humana. The results of
this research concluded that the Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
Foundation for Social Research Institute (YLPS) Humana is a (NGO)-oriented
problems of street children with their role in reducing the working hours of
children took to the streets which is done by providing a variety of services,
namely: service in the field of education, health and advocacy with a focus on
service to maximize access to public services for the target towards the fulfillment
of children's rights because of the unmet needs of children then automatically the
number of children who took to the streets will be reduced.
