Abstract :
The implementation of providing legal attendance for free in the process of criminal jurisdiction in Yogyakarta city and the barriers faced by the perpetrator in the efforts of looking for legal attendance for free. The purpose of this legal writing was to know the implementation of providing legal attendance for free in the process of criminal jurisdiction in Yogyakarta city and to know the barriers faced by perpetrator in efforts of looking for legal attendance. This research used normative research method, i.e. literary method whose research studied valid norms and can be conducted by conducting research from literatures of which behalf as secondary data by the shape of legal sources, either of which have specific or general characteristic. Based on the result of this research, there is deviation in the implementation of providing legal attendance for free in the process of criminal jurisdiction in Yogyakarta city and the existence of barriers faced by the perpetrator in efforts of looking for legal attendance for free. The recommendation of the author is hopefully in order the accused or defendant's necessities or even society widely is better conducted legal instruction to them in order they have legal comprehension and the part of legal enforcing apparatus give the clearest information concerning on the procedures to gain legal attendance. The part of legal enforcing apparatus also have to build and maintain the harmonious relationship and having mutual sustain one to each other in order these barriers can be overwhelmed as minimally and also the part of legal enforcing apparatus have to conduct socialization in order the providing of legal attendance will not have barriers furthermore.
