Abstract :
A variety of cost models are used in the world's construction industries. In Indonesia, the use of traditional bill of quantities is common. Recently they are used as effective and reliable cost models. This research explains the purpose of cost models. It explains how the principle of cost-significance can lead to a simplified method of measurement, which is both well structured and sufficiently accurate. The derivation of a cost-significant model for 29 Consolidation Dams, 13 Sabo Dams and 12 Channel Works is presented by examples. The principle of obtaining the cost-significance method is applied by using Multiple Regression Analysis, and the model has been tested by 4 projects. The data have been arranged and analyzed by using SPSS. This program can produce the formula of multiple regression equation, each equation can be used to make estimation of total cost for consolidation dam, sabo dam, and channel work. The result will be tested by the different between estimated and actual devided to actual cost. The result shows that the accuration level reached about 7% - 15% for consolidation dams, about 7% for sabo dams, and about 6% for channel works. This result provides the accuracy range of tender activity which is between 5% - 15%.
