Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to identify the business activity of book photo copy service that can be qualified as copyright violation, and to identify the owners? efforts in preventing from the striving of law about violation copyright. This research was an empirical study in law. The respondents of this research were the photo copy business owners in Yogyakarta. This research was also equipped by the data from expert and secondary data in law. The result showed that the photo copy business that was not equipped by a legal permission was categorized into violation of the copyright. The photo copy owners? efforts to prevent from striving the law were avoiding reduplication of book without permission from the writer and paying the royalty to writer or copyright owners when they reduplicate the book.
