Abstract :
Domestic violence is any act against someone, especially the women who resulted in suffering phy, sexual, psychological and others. Domestic violence is not a new phenomenon in the society and families because of it is often happened and thrive in the society. In this case the most dominant victims are women (wives) even though there are other victims such as children husbands and others who work as domestic servants. The factors that caused domestic violence, are poor communication between husband and wife, disharmony in the household, wife erors, as well as the husband?s inability to meet the economic needs of the family. With the problems that have been studied, so it is expected to the police efforts in revealing the crime of domestic violence with the type of study is a normative law research which refers to the positive law in the form of legislation in force in Indonesia. Based on the results of research in the polda DIY, there are some socializations of the institutions involved. One of them is Directorate of BINMAS POLDA DIY. It told a briefing to the cadres in the form of socialization and assisted by institutions related namely the institution Legal Aid (LBH) and non governmental organizations (NGO) as well as the role of RT/RW directly within the family and society.
