Abstract :
The problem that had been investigated in this research is whether there is Any relationship between smoking with Hypertension of all smoker elderly in Gatak Tamantirto Kasihan Bantul Yogyakarta. The purpose of this research is to know the smoking (number of cigarette and the longer of smoking) as one of risk factors hypertension of all smoker elderly in Gatak Tamantirto Kasihan Bantul Yogyakarta. This Study used Cross sectional design. Population was all man smoker of Gatak. Samples of research were 88 respondents, taken by Total Sampling. The instrument that is used in this research is questionaire made by researcher which had been validated. The research result shows that the factor?s that relate with hypertension are the number (p= 0,211) and the longer to suck the cigarette (p= 0,355). The data in this research calculated using Kendall?s Tau statistic test with meaningful degree (?) = 0, 05. The writer?s suggestions relate to the finding of this research are: to decrease risk of hypertension, people should decrease cigarette consume, socialization effort to the society, relate with hypertension risk factors should be done continually either from the government or relate instance to decrease hypertension that is one of diseases that has high risk die, and for the next researchers, the result of the research can be a reference and hopefully they can take a specific population to the way of smoking, so it can get more investigating result of the relation of those variables with hypertension.
