Abstract :
Background : Anemia during pregnancy is a chronic problem in Indonesia as evident in the
prevalence among pregnant women which reaches up to 63.5%. In the past four years, anemia
prevalence didn?t show any significant decline. Anemia during pregnancy could have negative
effect, especially during pregnancy, labor, and puerperium.
Purpose : The present study was aimed for midwifery care and to gain understanding and real
ability on theory and field practice to develop mindset and ability to perform comprehensive
midwifery care consistent with standard by using SOAP and Varney midwifery management
documentation in Sedayu 1 Public Health Center, Bantul.
Method : The present case study used observational and descriptive methods. The present case
study was performed in Sedayu I Public Health Center, Bantul and the subjects were pregnant
women to puerperal women. The instruments were medical record, cohort, and KIA book. The
data collection techniques in the present case study were interview, observation, physical
examination, documentation, medical record and literature study using Varney midwifery
management.
Result : In the case of pregnant woman Mrs. N, there was 8 gram% anemia. She was
administered intake and nutrition for pregnant women, FE tablet, nutrition monitoring and a lot
of rest, consultation on anemia and its effects on mother and fetus. The anticipatory actions were
collaboration with midwife and checking her hb change to avoid causing pathological disorder.
Planning was given clear information on the conditions of the patient and the pregnancy.
Conclusion : after taking of 6 visits, it is know that there are quite satisfactory results, namely
the mother?s condition is good, with the mother?s Hb rising.
