Abstract :
Perumda Giri Tirta Gresik Regency as the provider of clean water in
Gresik Regency will develop a distribution pipe network in the Greenland
Menganti Housing Complex in the next few years. Before development is carried
out on the network, it is necessary to evaluate the existing condition of the
distribution network system in the housing complex to analyze the problems that
occur in the clean water distribution system. In evaluating the clean water
distribution network system, researchers used EPANET 2.2 software. This
research is a type of descriptive qualitative research. Observations were carried
out by observing the condition of the existing water distribution pipe network,
water pressure, water discharge and water flow speed in the Greenland Menganti
Housing Complex. The results of running EPANET 2.2 software show that the
lowest pressure value in the distribution network system is 12.04 mka and the
highest pressure value is 19.59 mka. These results are still in accordance with
Minister of Public Works Regulation Number 18/PRT/M/2007 for the minimum
pressure criteria in distribution pipes is 5-10 mka at the furthest service reach
point. The running results of the water flow velocity value in the pipe or velocity
show the lowest value of 0.02 m/s, while the highest velocity value is 1,17 m/s.
According to Minister of Public Works Regulation Number 18/PRT/M/2007, the
permitted velocity value is 0.3 ? 2.5 m/s, so these results are not in accordance
with the planning criteria. A flow speed that is too low will cause deposits to
form in the pipe, causing a corrosion effect on the pipe. To avoid sedimentation in
the pipe, it is best to wash the pipe (washout or cleaning and flushing).
