Abstract :
This research is motivated by the results of the author's observations regarding problems related to abnormal coal distribution in the coal spreader causing a decrease in boiler power, loss of heat energy or heat loss reducing boiler temperature and pressure. The aim of this research is how to improve predictive maintenance procedures by overcoming system failures using the root cause failed analysis (RCFA) technique, a technique for identifying the cause of a problem and designing additional shearpins and rpm alarm sensors on the pulley as a safety measure in the event of an overload on the coal spreader. Data collected using data observation techniques, interviews, documentation sessions and data analysis aims to provide practical guidance to companies to optimize production processes. The results of this research concluded that during downtime problems in the coal spreader boiler efficiency was 67.1% for 15 minutes with the design of adding shearpins and rpm alarm sensors on the coal spreader pulley, boiler efficiency data increased to 71.3%.
