The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of audio-visual media
on the students' dancing skills taught by using audio-visual media to students in
extracurricular dance at SMAN 1 Sikur. This research method using experimental
method. In this research method, researcher use pattern or model pretest-posttest
control group desigen. In this design there are two groups selected randomly by lot,
then given a pretest to know the initial state is there any difference between the
experimental group and the control group. As for the population in this study are
students who follow extracurricular dance at SMAN 1 Sikur. Respondents in this
study amounted to 36 students with 18 students as an experimental group and 18
students as a control group. Based on the research that has been done, the average
value in the experimental group 80.1 from the maximum score of 90 and the score of
at least 60 and the average score control group 75.3 from a maximum score of 90 and
a minimum score of 50. So it can be seen that the use of audio media visual effects
have a positive effect on students' dancing skills. From the results of hypothesis
testing, it turns out alternative hypothesis (Ha) accepted. Hypothesis testing in this
study using hypothesis test t-test and from the statistical calculation obtained tcount =
2.33 then the tcount price compared with the ttable price with a significant level of
5% obtained ttable = 2.03. Then thitung> ttable is 2.33> 2.03. Then the result of
hypothesis testing is Ho rejected and Ha accepted. From the results of the test shows
that learning by using audio visual media can improve students' dancing skills
compared without using audio visual media and have a positive effect on student
learning interest.
